This first-ever study on LGBTQ groups that are "led by and for people of color," finds that these groups tend to operate primarily on funding from individuals or community events and are less likely to receive support from foundations, corporations or government sources. The research reported here is a first-time attempt to identify and describe these groups, and the reader is asked to take caution and note that the representation could be incomplete. A second version is scheduled for release in 2009.
