Impacts 08 was commissioned by the Liverpool City Council in order to evaluate the social, economic and environmental impact of Liverpool hosting the European Capital of Culture title in 2008. Interviews were conducted with local residents of Liverpool involved in the service sector � city center hotel staff, Impact 08 volunteers, and cab drivers. Among the findings was a sense of excitement among the interviewees about current changes within the city and the need to communicate the changes to those that might have an outdated perception of Liverpool. This report provides a model for evaluating the effects of a culture-led urban regeneration program.
