Momentum, an Initiative to Support the Touring Capacity of Southern Dance Companies

Five dance companies were selected to participate in Momentum, a new three-year initiative from South Arts, to build their capacity regional and national touring. Over the course of the program, according to South Arts, each company will receive professional development, residency opportunities, and touring grants to fund their work.

Dimensions Dance Theater of Miami (Miami, Florida); Helen Simoneau Danse (Winston-Salem, North Carolina); New Dialect (Nashville, Tennessee); staibdance (Avondale Estates, Georgia); and Wideman Davis Dance (Columbia, South Carolina) will also receive showcase opportunities at the Performing Arts Exchange booking conference to share their work with arts presenters and programmers.

According to South Arts, the goals of this initiative are to increase touring capacity, access to resources and opportunities, and awareness/recognition within and outside of the South Arts region.
