Illinois Governor Lauded for Arts Support

Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn was feted in Washington, D.C., Thursday morning for his support of the arts by Americans for the Arts, a nonprofit arts-advocacy group.

Quinn was praised alongside Elizabeth Kautz, the mayor of Burnsville, Minn., and Frank Ortis, mayor of Pembroke Pines, Fla. All three officials were given the group's 2012 Public Leadership in the Arts Award. Holland Taylor was also honored with a 2012 Legendary Artist Award.
