This study provides a thorough examination of the cultural diplomacy practices of nine developed industrial countries: Australia, Austria, France, Canada, Japan, Netherlands, Singapore, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. The contrast of the philosophies, goals, priorities, structure and funding of these country's efforts is enlightening, but the lack of comparable data and information on U.S. practices makes this study of somewhat limited use to those with a stake in international cultural exchange.
