Preconferences: Sunday, October 14

Support for Individual Artists

Focus will be on the spectrum of ways that artists are supported, including opportunities for funders to develop new strategies and support tools. The preconference will be held at The Lightbox at Goldman Warehouse in the heart of Miami's Wynwood Art District.

Arts and Culture in Immigrant Communities

This preconference will examine the role of arts and culture in maintaining and supporting healthy livable immigrant and refugee communities. The preconference will be held in the Little Haiti neighborhood in Miami.

The Role of the Arts and Artists in Health and Aging

Working with the National Center for Creative Aging, the Society of Arts and Healthcare, and local Florida arts and healthcare providers, GIA explores how artists are improving the lives and health of aging Americans and how funders can support and assess these projects. The preconference will be held in Fort Lauderdale.
