Conference Information & Registration

Conference Eligibility

The GIA Conference is the annual national convening for arts grantmakers. Conference attendance is open to staff or board members of organizations whose primary activity is grantmaking and are eligible for GIA membership, including foundations, public funding agencies, corporate giving programs, and nonprofit grantmakers. Full eligibility criteria can be found on our Membership page. While all organizations must meet eligibility criteria, membership is not required for conference attendance.

Grantmaking organizations that also solicit funds may only be represented by individuals whose roles involve grantmaking, programming, and/or policy. Fundraising or development staff are not eligible to attend. In addition, individuals who serve on the board of a National Partner organization are not eligible to attend.

Contact gia@giarts.org with questions regarding conference eligibility.

A Brief Word on Fundraising Ethics

To preserve the capacity for open discussion, all attendees must refrain from fundraising or solicitation. Organizations that solicit funds are expected to be represented only by individuals whose roles involve grantmaking, programming and/or policy, and not by fundraising or development staff.
