Resources for Arts Education Funders
Grantmakers and organizations interested in arts education policy are invited to join the Arts Education Funders Coalition. The AEFC is a group formed by GIA to research and identify federal policy opportunities that promote equitable access to arts education in all public schools. Arts education funders may also be interested in the following resources:
  • A recording of GIA’s February web conference on the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), which became law just before the first of the year, is now available online.
  • A new report from RAND Corporation, commissioned by The Wallace Foundation, outlines the ways in which public schools can utilize ESSA funding to support efforts to improve school leadership.
May Web Conference: Philanthropy Practice in Native and Tribal Communities
The next GIA web conference, Philanthropy Practice in Native and Tribal Communities, will be held on Tuesday, May 24 at 2pm EDT / 11am PDT. Lulani Arquette from Native Arts and Cultures Foundation, Susan Jenkins formerly of Cherokee Preservation Foundation, and Diane Kaplan from Rasmuson Foundation will present insightful efforts and practical advice that have emerged from funders working in Native and tribal communities.
