New GIA Members
GIA is pleased to introduce five new members that joined in September, Arts Council Napa Valley, City of Austin Cultural Arts Division, Georgia Council for the Arts, Kresge Arts in Detroit, and T. Rowe Price Foundation. Welcome!
Member Spotlight: Target
For the month of October, GIA's photo banner features artists and work supported by Target. Target's support of the arts and culture dates back to 1946 when the company first began giving 5 percent of its profit to local communities. Today, this giving equals more than $4 million each week. Target is a Leadership Sponsor of the 2016 GIA Conference taking place this month in Saint Paul, MN, neighbor to Target's headquarters in Minneapolis.
GIA Capitalization Workshops Available for Funders and Grantees
GIA is now booking “Conversations on Capitalization and Community” workshops for 2017. Two separate workshops, lasting three hours each, are designed for grantees and funders, respectively, on the importance of financial management, understanding the needs of the organization for different kinds of funds, and how grantmakers encourage or discourage financial stability for nonprofit arts groups. For more information or to book a workshop, contact sujn@giarts.org.
