Partnership Will Lead to the Institute of American Indian Arts' New Research Center

A new research center the Institute of American Indian Arts, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, seeks to create will get support from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, reported The Associated Press.

The center, according to the AP, "will focus on the advancement of contemporary Native American arts and culture by streamlining the care of museum collections and records as well as supporting training through internships and fellowships."

A scholarly fellowship program is also in the works to provide financial support for fellows working on projects related to contemporary Native American art.
