New Jersey Recovery Fund Established

The Community Foundation of New Jersey, the Dodge Foundation, and other partners in the philanthropic and corporate community both locally and nationally have established the New Jersey Recovery Fund to help nonprofits and communities rebuild after Superstorm Sandy. The Fund will target grants and loans to support and strengthen the nonprofit sector as well as forward-thinking communities which need resources to implement innovative ideas and solutions.

The <a "http://www.cfnj.org/rebuildnewjersey/href=">Community Foundation of New Jersey, which is administering the Fund, can accept gifts directed to certain communities and/or program areas (including the arts); however, the main focus is to attract flexible dollars that can be deployed as the wide-ranging effects of this disaster unfold. This flexibility will allow the Fund to respond to both the direct and indirect impacts of the storm in many areas, including the arts, the environment, human services, and regional and community planning. Program staff from the participating Foundations will lead Fund grantmaking activities and recommend projects to an Advisory Committee for final approval.
