The future of the arts is sitting in school today. That's why so much effort has gone into funding the education and outreach programs of arts organizations everywhere. Unfortunately, schools are a tough "market" to crack. To help one arts organization increase its effectiveness in this area, we interviewed superintendents, curriculum directors, and principals from sixteen school districts over a three-county area, including urban, suburban, and rural areas. Here are a dozen lessons we learned that could help you and your grantees.
