This two-part report documents the philanthropic response to the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The first part provides findings from a 2003 survey of one hundred and eleven funds participating in post-attack recovery and discusses the operational constraints and creative responses necessitated by this unique situation. The second part documents contributions and distributions of the forty largest relief and re-granting funds.
